The First Trimester Blurrrrr

I have no energy for typing on this blog lately. In fact, I hesitated even starting this post knowing very well that it would be very short, sweet, and absolutely uneventful. The first trimester of pregnancy has never felt so absolutely exhausting before! I count myself lucky for having experienced two very easy pregnancies in the past because this current one is hitting me like a ton of bricks. I had never gotten so sick before... Luckily I know someone in the drug business and got some Zofran immediately ;) I never thought I would welcome any drug into my life so readily. That miracle drug has been what has saved me from absolute misery and I kiss the feet of whoever invented it. As far as the old lady exhaustion goes... well, let's just say I'm doing the bare minimum these days. I wake up, keep the kids fed and happy all day, and that's just about it. By the time they are in bed for the night, so am I. I joke with Jordan that it might look like I'm doing absolutely nothing, but there's actually a whole factory production going on manufacturing a human-being with fingers and toes and a nervous system and a fast little heart beat and, frankly, it's just taking up all of my resources. So, by the looks of this blog, it might look like I haven't been up to much... But, I assure you, I AM, I AM! Thankfully, I only have one more week until the first trimester has passed and then hopefully I can start getting more energy, stop feeling so sick all the time, and can add some cute pictures of the kids to this blog!

I will add a cute story about Beckham because he just cracks us up every day. Lately he insists on wearing something very unique that will get attention and will "look cool." He wears his Captain America costume quite often. One day it got dirty and I told him that I'd have to wash it and he got so upset and said, "But, mom! Then no body will think I look cool!" Then he asked if he could put on his new church suit. That always gets a lot of attention at church, so he figured he should wear it to the grocery store. I told him "no." So, the next thing I know, he's up in his bedroom putting on camo pants with his "super hero belt" and a lime green shirt and THREE clip-on neck ties. He found a way to still stand out and look super-cool. I laughed so hard (not at him... just later when telling Jordan about it). Then, today, he wanted to wear his baseball hat to Joy School. I told him he couldn't wear it to class because it would be too distracting but that he could wear it in the car. Again, he wanted to look cool, so he made a point to wear it as he got out of the car and waited for all of the other kids to notice him and only then did he take off his hat and hand it to me and run inside to join his friends. This kid makes me laugh every single day. He is always doing such cute things!

So, that's us. More eventful, energetic, exciting things to come in the near future (I HOPE!)

  1. Ack, I feel you on the fatigue. In my first tri I would come home from work and be in bed by 7:30! Didn't have the sickness though, so pure sympathy on that one. I have a friend who literally has an IV drip of meds to get her through those first 13 weeks! Hope you hit that magic 2nd tri and sickness goes away and energy comes back.

Also, love the Beckham story! So funny!

  2. I'm feeling your pain. I'm also almost done with my 1st trimester, feeling crappy, and taking Zofran. But you have me beat with being up with your kids. So far I have to stay in bed to keep any food down. I'm also hoping a few more weeks will make a difference! When are you due? I'm due August 20th.
